Rain-out Information: It is extremely rare that PPSA games are cancelled because of weather, but it can happen. There are two ways that games can be cancelled due to weather.
  1. The first way is a cancellation by the Peoria Park District. This can happen if there has been so much rain that park district officials decide that the fields are not playable. If this happens, PPSA board members will call the coaches and a notice will be posted on this web site.
  2. The second way is a cancellation by PPSA officials. This can happen in the event of severe weather, primarily storms with lightening.  If a game is underway and severe weather threatens, the referee may make the decision to suspend that game and will tell the coaches to clear the field.  If that happens, all parents should take players to their cars and WAIT for further instructions. The referee will try to wait out the storm for awhile. Teams will forfeit if there are not enough players when the referee decides to resume a game.

Parents: Always assume that the games will be played unless you get a call from your coach. Avoid assuming that the games will be cancelled just because it is raining. Unlike baseball, soccer games are played in the rain, so make sure you own an umbrella.
